About URHS

Uintah River High School (URHS) is a public charter school that is located on the Uintah and Ouray Reservation between Roosevelt and Vernal. URHS was one of the first charter schools in Utah, starting in 1999. As URHS is found on the Ute Indian Tribe’s reservation, and has been created to support and provide for the needs of Native children, there is a strong and positive influence of Native American culture.

URHS is an alternative school. As such, we are in a position to do everything in our power to help students that may not be on track for graduation. We offer small class sizes and plenty of opportunity for one on one support.

Over the years URHS has cultivated a strong tradition of student athletics. We have recently taken State in our charter league for boys’ basketball and placed in state for boys’ basketball, girls volleyball, and we hope to place in state basketball again this season.

URHS welcomes students of all backgrounds and ethnicity.
